Engine test cells

There are three engine test cells available at LAT/AUTh, mostly equipped by AVL. We use one AVL 350kW dyno suitable for mid duty engines, one AVL 120kW dyno fully capable for transient engine operation and one Schenk 130kW dyno mostly used for steady state testing, soon to be upgraded with an AVL 250kW transient dyno. The lab also has a climatic chamber with a diesel engine, able to go down to -22°C, designed for cold startability testing and the evaluation of various fuels and additives effect on engine starting.

In the facilities of the LTTE/UoWM, a specialized engine test cell is available, with an AVL optical engine.
