Fuel injection spray visualisation and measurements

Mixing process, especially in GDI engines, is greatly dependent in spray formation and more specifically its properties such as spay angle, brake-up length and spray penetration. When alternative fuels are used in conventional engines, this is a parameter that needs to be investigated. The optical engine is allowing us to visualise the spray and qualitatively identify its properties by controlling the injection parameters such as injection timing and duration.
